For parkinsonism, the drug is taken orally, three times in 24 hours. The optimal dosage is 50 mg.

Action in the body

Orphenadrine has a complex action. It works simultaneously as an anesthetic (similar to lidocaine), antihistamine (similar to diphenhydramine), and analgesic (similar to nefopam). What is the effect of the active substance on the body:

  • blocks histamine and muscarinic receptors;
  • inhibits sodium channels;
  • regulates the reuptake system of the hormone norepinephrine.

As a result, the conduction of nerve impulses is disrupted, which leads to the alleviation of skeletal and muscular pain. The pills help to relieve pathological tension without provoking atony. Healthy muscle fibers are not affected. Additionally, the substance has a sedative and anti-allergic effect.

Paracetamol as part of the drug has a moderate anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. It’s a safe substance that can reduce body temperature, relieve pain, accelerate the healing of soft tissues.

Overdose of the drug

The main signs of overdose are:

  • painful sensations in the lower abdomen;

  • decreased appetite;

  • nausea, which turns into vomiting;

  • the pallor of the skin.

As a consequence of a 1-time overdose, hepatic cell necrosis is likely to develop. This process may be reversible or irreversible.

In case of overdose, the victim requires immediate medical attention. The use of activated charcoal is possible. Additionally, symptomatic therapy is carried out.

If the recommended dose is exceeded, the patient develops signs of intoxication – nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. Headaches, seizures aren’t excluded. In severe cases, respiratory depression, paralysis, and renal failure may occur. Treatment of overdose is symptomatic. There is no specific antidote. In mild intoxication, gastric lavage is indicated, in severe – forced diuresis.

Admission of the drug affects the CNS. The active ingredients may cause headaches, confusion, dizziness, somnolence. Against the background of admission, concentration decreases, anxiety and restlessness develop. During treatment, it is forbidden to perform work that requires quick reactions. It’s forbidden to drive vehicles.

Possible side effects

Against the background of long-term treatment of tablets with orphenadrine in the composition may:

  • allergic rashes;
  • skin itching;
  • tachycardia;
  • rapid breathing;
  • pain in the stomach;
  • nausea;
  • intestinal disorders;
  • urinary retention;
  • general weakness;
  • tremors of the extremities;
  • nasal congestion;
  • blurred vision.

What adverse reactions occur

Frequent adverse reactions are observed on the respiratory organs. For example, a person may complain of nasal congestion.

Some people complain of increased intraocular pressure: they get a feeling that their eyeballs are “bulging”. This condition is sometimes combined with intracranial pressure. Their vision becomes blurred, and they feel as if something is floating in front of their eyes.

Sometimes nystagmus or mydriasis occurs.

Adverse reactions from the skeletal and neuromuscular systems may occur. The person complains of severe weakness in the muscles, and sometimes his hands or feet begin to tremble. The tremor may be accompanied by general weakness and mild nausea.

Some patients experience hypersensitivity reactions:

  • skin itching;

  • urticaria;

  • sneezing (rare).

Quincke’s edema, an extremely dangerous condition requiring urgent medical attention, is also possible.

In 30-40% of cases, patients complain of problems with the genitourinary system. For example, older people may experience urinary retention.

Gastrointestinal problems may also occur in older people. Some older patients complain of mild nausea, which sometimes combines with dizziness, or turns into vomiting. Irritation of the stomach may occur. Problems with stools – such as constipation – also occur.

Norflex may also have a negative effect on the CNS. Some people complain that they have a headache after taking the medicine. Younger people become more agitated and irritable. Older patients complain of drowsiness. In severe cases, consciousness becomes confused and hallucinations appear.

Less often the drug affects the heart: patients complain of increased heartbeat.

Additional information

Due to the fact that Norflex Plus can cause dizziness and drowsiness, you should not drive after taking it. Also, do not engage in activities that require rapid psychomotor reactions and increased concentration.

If a patient takes barbiturates, anticonvulsants, and diuretics, he should get additional advice from his doctor.

The drug should be stored in the original package, in a cool and dry place out of the reach of sunlight and children and pets. The optimum temperature for storage is + 25 degrees Celsius.

Later, typical symptoms of poisoning, such as nausea, dizziness, and within 72 hours after overdose, abdominal pain with unclear localization appear. After 4-5 days, the failure of the body manifests itself fully in the form of acute liver failure.

Toxic is considered already 10 g of the substance (or 150-200 mg per 1 kg of human body weight), suggests a high chance of hepatotoxicity (liver damage) up to lethal outcome.

Treatment

If an excessive dose of Acetaminophen has been ingested within 1 hour, it is worth taking an absorbent agent. Plasma concentrations are measured 4 to 6 hours after ingestion.

N – Acetylcysteine can be used 24 hours after taking Acetaminophen, but the greatest productive effect can be achieved within 8 hours of use. The potency of the antidote decreases significantly after this time. Sometimes there is a need for intravenous administration of N – Acetylcysteine.

Treatment:

In case of overdose, indicated:

  • forced diuresis to obtain a large volume of urine;

What is Cyclobenzaprine Yuredol used for? (Cyclobenzaprine Yuredol para que sirve?)

The drug is designed to quickly relieve muscle cramps. It relaxes the muscles and helps cope with myalgia without directly affecting the muscular frame. The active ingredient of the drug is cyclobenzaprine. It is an effective myotropic antispasmodic that works regardless of the cause of muscle pain. It has been well studied and is recognized as safe for patients over 18 years of age.

Cyclobenzaprine is more than 90% bound to plasma albumin and globulin. Its bioavailability ranges from 33 to 55%. Maximum blood concentration is reached 8 hours after oral administration.

Cyclobenzaprine affects brain stem cells. The active substance partially interferes with the transmission of nerve impulses from the CNS to the periphery and restructures the spinal cord. This provides a relaxing effect.

When using the drug Yuredol, tonic activity is reduced; spasms, cramps, tremors are eliminated; a sedative effect is provided.

Hypertonicity and pain under the influence of cyclobenzaprine disappear. At the same time, there is no effect on the very muscular frame and synapses. In spasticity against the background of cerebral palsy, the drug is ineffective, but it can be used as a concomitant therapy for tetanus.

Yuredol belongs to the group of muscle relaxants and is used to treat back and neck pain. The active ingredient of the drug is cyclobenzaprine. It helps to relax the muscles and reduce muscle tone. Under the action of the medication, the hyperactivity of the muscles decreases. At the same time, the drug has no effect on their structure.

Back pain occurs in nearly 75% of people of all ages. The drug allows getting rid of this unpleasant phenomenon in just 2-3 weeks. Longer treatment is not required, because usually this period is enough to eliminate the problem. Yuredol 10 mg acts at the level of the brain stem. A significant improvement in the state of health and disappearance of pronounced pain syndrome was detected after 14 days in 90% of patients who took the drug. If we take into account clinical studies, we can conclude that already on the 4th day the pain decreases and mobility improves.
